Damian Taylor
Untitled (nephews?)

19 May - 11 June 2012

Artist Talk - 31 May, 7pm

Hobbs Mclaughlin Gallery are pleased to announce the opening of Untitled (nephews?), a solo exhibition by Damian Taylor. Taylor will be showing paintings on steel and paper, and a series of works in cast resin.

In Taylor's practice, each individual work is conceived as a part of a wider series, or ‘family’, of works created from a shared process of making. Paintings, in which abraded steel is built up with layers of resin and pigment, are cast or imprinted upon paper, creating new works. This physical re-production creates a line of descendants, all related to the initial painting, and each bearing the markings specific to their lineage.

To coincide with the exhibition, Hobbs Mclaughlin Gallery have produced an interview with Damian Taylor. Please click here to download.
